Adrian Benavides (in his hometown of Corpus Christi , Texas) created Alternate15 in 2002 as a solo musical project devoted to ambient experimental soundscapes. Having explored the hard rock and metal environment with his guitar playing for many years, Adrian felt it necessary to focus on the electronic side of his musical skills as well as to push the boundries of guitar sounds in electronic music. He had performed several of the Experimental Music Nights at The Lotus Cup and at a few art openings in Corpus Christi . Alternate15's performances evolved into more active sets that included covers of songs by Godflesh and Nine Inch Nails (two of Adrian 's main influences). After nine months of live performances, Alternate15 was ready for some new musical elements.
Due to a few setbacks in 2003 Adrian was able to take some time to improve his skills and modify Alternate15's direction. Adrian has been greatly influenced by industrial music as well as metal and progressive rock and he would like to hear more industrial music advance to higher places that bands like Nine Inch Nails, Godflesh, Ulver and King Crimson have taken the genre. Adrian 's goal is to melt down all the elements he loves from experimental, industrial, progressive and metal musical styles to create something new in the form of Alternate15.
In December 2004 Adrian moved to Austin, Texas and found like-minded musicians to bring the existing Alternate15 material to a live setting and to help with writing new material.Band/artist history
