Akheron was conceptualized in the year 1999 in electronic music and music theory classes. All work was halted in 2001, but resumed in 2003.
Work continues on a debut release of material combining industrial synths and percussion, noise, and ambient soundscapes with symphonic and orchestral instruments.
Band/artist history
An instrumental song was written during lectures in electronic music and music theory classes. This planted the seed that turned into an ongoing project, and more material was written during subsequent lectures.
All work stopped due to hardware failure, and certain obligations.
New hardware and software were obtained, and work resumed. Material had to be reworked and refined as the new software was learned, thus work on a debut release was a slow process.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Akheron hasn't the equipment or personnel to do so.
Your musical influences
Akheron started out influenced by the works of the prequisite classical/romantic composers (especially Mussorgsky and Schubert) and more modern film composers such as Elliot Goldenthal, Hans Zimmer, and Klaus Badelt. It began to creep into more industrial and dark ambient territory, influenced by the likes of Wumpscut, Lustmord, the sample work of Jim Thirlwell, and many of the Cold Meat Industry artists, such as In Slaughter Natives, raison d'être, and Sophia.
