A Kaizen Blitz (aKB) are a three piece band based in Barrow in Furness, . They play their own style of fast paced high energy music with strong Ska and Punk influences. Band Members Jono Guitar and Vocals Once upon a time Jono used to have a real name but seeing as no-one uses it anymore he’s given up responding to it. In addition to being the main vocalist and guitar player, Jono is also the principle song writer of the group. Just like the Incredible Hulk Jono has a bottomless pit of anger, although he uses it more constructively by playing in a band rather than smashing things. He also cant spell to save himself. Anthony “Staggy” Stagg Drums and Vocals Staggy brings an air of calm and stability to the group.... until he sits down behind a drum kit. The other side of his personality takes over and he loses all sense of restraint. Like a high performance engine he drags the band though each tune by the scruffs of their necks; few can determine whether it's more a harried parent or bored child-like inner character which drives Staggy's rampant thirst for playing loud and playing fast. Oh, and he sings backing too... Ryan Truffit - Bass Ryan is the rhythm backbone of the band throwing out funky riffs, to get you bouncing.
Band/artist history
aKB have been playing regularly since 2009 and taking any and all opportunity to play when and where they can.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Hell yeah! We love playing gig whenever and wherever we can. We play regularly round the local areas (north west England, UK) and are looking to get out and play further afield.
Your musical influences
aKB’s influences are wide and varied but include: The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, The Specials, Toots and the Maytals, The Beat, the Sex Pistols, Rancid, NoFX, Less than Jake, Bad Religion, Elvis, The Beatles, Guttermouth, Greenday, Rancid again, Bob Marley, Eddie Grant, Madness, and loads others.
What equipment do you use?
Guitar, bass, drums, and mics mainly......... We're still experimenting with equipment to see what gives us our best live sound. For recording demos we use a Line6 UX for guitar / bass modelling.
Anything else?
We love writing tunes and often knock out a rough demo a week. In the year we've been writting, we've knocked together about 25 original songs that are now staples of our set and another 30 or so waiting for us to get time to learn them!
