Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I was in a band for many years. We released 1 album and an EP. We gigged hard but it folded. However the experience taught me many things that I can bring with me on this new journey and I feel it was a necessary to road for me travel. Since the band folded I’ve been writing like a mad man and developing myself as a solo artist. It was a little daunting at first because I wasn’t really sure of what would happen, if anything, but I’ve now found the way I like to do things and this EP is an introduction to me and my flavour of music.
I’ve had some successes in Song writing competitions and supported
Skunkhour here in Australia before they split many years ago with the band. I’ve had my quota of managers and labels that promise the world and deliver nothing (hey you’ve got to earn your srtipes don’t you) and I’ve knocked on so many doors I’ve had to have a knuckle reconstruction (that’s a joke) But I’m still here, I’m still writing and I’m still pushing my music out there and I still love it. It’s just part of the course, the stuff you have to go through. I think it helps shape you. It’s a good thing in some respects.
I’ve been played in Radio on NY and the UK and recently performed a small show (very small) in Manhattan NY earlier this year.
Right now I’m really excited about this release and pumped to get it out into the world.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes. Mainly just in Australia at the moment but I did play in NYC earlier this year.
Your musical influences
Anything that has a great melody. If you can sing it and it sings well I'll generally like it. But I do prefer artists that have a little more substance to their music. Dylan, Neil Young, Lou Reed, Bowie etc.
What equipment do you use?
Maton acoustic, Gibson Les Paul Special and 100w Marshall with a 4x10 Quad.
