Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Influenced by bands such as Switchblade Symphony, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Dido, The Cure, and the Blue Man Group, A Girl Called Untouchable was formed in December of 2003 in Clinton, MO. After almost a year of trying to put together a band with no success, A Girl Called Untouchable was born as the solo project for the singer and keyboardist. The main focus of the music of A Girl Called Untouchable is the introspective, intellectual lyrics that try persuade the listener to take a closer look at the world around them and entertain them at the same time. The songs focus on a wide range of emotions as well as stories. "Invisible" tells the story of a 6 year old girl who died around 1902 and is now a ghost in her old house. "Liar" is about decievers (politicians, and corporate criminals especially). "Unsent Letters" is about saying goodbye to friends who have passed away. "Prisoner Of War" was written about the violence in today's world. Other songs such as "Drowning", "Alone", and "If You Listen Close" deal with feelings of lonliness, depression, and defeat. A Girl Called Untouchable's debut album on Black Cherry records is currently being worked on and is expected to be released in December of 2004. The album is currently untitled. Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
As of right now, A Girl Called Untouchable has not done any shows simply because the band has not been around long and not a lot of material has been written. I also don't really like to do covers of other people's songs.
Your musical influences
Switchblade Symphony was a major influence for the music of A Girl Called Untouchable, as well as older pre-Fallen Evanescence. Lacuna Coil was also an influence for the music. As for the lyrics, Evanescence and AFI inspired me a lot while writing the album.
What equipment do you use?
All instruments were done on a YAMAHA DGX 200 Portable Grand Keyboard, except for the song "Liar" which was done with a YAMAHA PSR 2 Keyboard.
