After Midnight were formed in 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne, taking their name from the JJ Cale song. There have been many highlights over the years, including support slots with Doctor Feelgood and Steve Marriott.

Since 2000 the band has concentrated on it's Eric Clapton tribute concerts, performed at theatres all over the UK and the world, under the name CLASSIC CLAPTON. Highlights have included The Royal Festival Hall, London and Glastonbury Festival, England. In the past 10 years they have performed numerous concerts in Europe including Spain, Estonia, Holland & France.

In 2009 they appeared at St Andrews Auditorium in Mumbai. They were invited back for 3 more concerts in India in 2016. On the final night of the tour Classic Clapton performed in front of 3500 people in the open air sports arena in Mumbai. On 18 March 2017 they appeared in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

After Midnight comprises 4 excellent musicians:- Mike Hall (lead vocals/guitar), Paul Warren (keyboards/ backing vocals), Danny Davison (drums) and Dave Robson (bass guitar /backing vocals). Dave is a former member of chart band Geordie. In fact he was with them at the time Brian Johnson left to join AC/DC. Dave is also an excellent songwriter and wrote the song "When We Were Young" and many more.

TYNE TEES TELEVISION were so impressed, they made a programme about After Midnight, called 'COVER THEIR TRACKS'. They filmed the band's concert at Newcastle Opera House in front of 600 ecstatic fans. It was shown in August 2000 and received rave reviews, leading to national recognition.
