Band/artist history
Aesma Daeva began when the solo project of classically trained guitarist Jon Prassas began to enlist the production assistance of Nick Copernicus. As the collaboration began to take a life of it's own, it became apparent that the project was becoming something unusual and different, hence the birth of Aesma Daeva. A unique blend of Dark Metal and hypnotic electronics adorned by the powerful operatic female vocals supplied by the by the also classically trained vocalist Rebecca Cords. The debut album "Here Lies One Whose Name Was Written In Water" combines Metal, Darkwave and Classical music with a conceptual album feeling of ethereal power and deep emotion. Here Lies... is an expansive experience, rich with atmospheric, meditational and hypnotic dark ambiance that will be savored by fans of many different genres. 2002 saw the release of "The Eros Of Frigid Beauty" the second full length release from this internationally acclaimed composer/musician is so truly great that it is difficult to try and convey the awesome power this album has to draw the listener back again and again. Words like grandiose, majestic, dark, beautiful, deep, epic, or even "classical-gothic-metal hybrid" hardly scratches the surface of even draw near to describing its driving ferociousness or hidden secrets. This fantastic release will unfortunately go unheard by the mass majority (for the most part) and has guaranteed No Hit Potential. The 2002 Milwaukee Metalfest will be the debut performance for Aesma Daeva. Composer/Songwriter/Guitarist Jon Prassas and vocalist Melissa Ferlaak will be joined by, guitarist Earl Root, drummer Tim Klatt, bassist Eden Taylor and Violinist Teressa Hanley to complete the live lineup.
