I write songs to reach people, to move them, to connect, shaping stories drawn from real life across many ensembles and traditions.
Band/artist history
I studied violin and performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. I have a BA in Musicology and a Masters in Ethnomusicology. I studied Electronic Music at Hampshire College, Jazz Composition at UMass Amherst, Classical Music Composition at Mt Holyoke, and Violin and Improvisation at Smith College. I opened my studio in 1985 to teach, write songs and compose music for ensembles.
