Adam Kaufman

The Spirit of the Room The Spirit of the Room
Pocket blues-pop tune with sparse by very active instrumentation

Soldier / Leader Soldier / Leader
Two low-key acoustic songs connected by a lilting solo

Dead Ends (part 1) Dead Ends (part 1)
Dark minor acoustic tune gives way to high energy studio rock with powerful harmonies towards the end

Wave Your Hand Wave Your Hand
Up-tempo song about calling it quits. Acoustic rhythm guitars, distorted lead guitar, and a sweet and simple percussion section. Oh, and vocals, of course

New Year's Song New Year's Song
A classic Adam Kaufman style song about the nature of the new year. Written and recorded 1/1/2005 after a bit of a new year's eve bust.

High Atop the Battlement High Atop the Battlement
Folky minor tune about a guy who conquers fate. Reminds me vaguely of the music at the beginning of Kill Bill... Really neat effect on the guitar, i love my pod!

Two Years Too Late Two Years Too Late
Dark tune with A Perfect Circle-esque harmonies.

Gotta Say Yeah Gotta Say Yeah
Finger style guitar song with some cool melodies and harmonies. In the same vein as "lefty".

1979 (Smashing Pumpkins) w/ Jarrett Clayman 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins) w/ Jarrett Clayman
Rough cover of 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins. Joint effort from Jarrett Clayman and myself.

All the Way All the Way
---UPDATED--- It's slow and it's melodic and it reminds me of something that i can't put my finger on... and now i've finally done it some justice. Added bass, percussion and assorted other goodies. Enjoy.

lefty lefty
Pretty little ditty with djembe and soprano recorder. Nice and mellow... go figure

Just Words (and That's All) Just Words (and That's All)
The closer on the record. My personal favorite. The chorus sort of reminds me of Oasis, and the outro is sort of Gusterish.

One Last Parade One Last Parade
This is the oldschool song on the record. I didn't write it a long time ago, but it sounds like I may as well have. It's even got the quintessential layered guitar segments.

Pain in the Ass Pain in the Ass
The pop song on the record. Very straightforward and unlayered. Upbeat.

Enter Enter
This is the epic from the album. It's got a bunch of different parts and a tremendous dissonance between the stripped feel of the verses and the layered feel of the other parts.

Without You Without You
Relaxed crooner about a girl. Synth bass and an aural montage make it a little different.

Angel Angel
Just one of those songs that defies description and genre. It's cool though, I promise. Take a listen and define it for yourself.
