Adam Deutsch
Hello, I am Adam Deutsch and this is my band. Unless specified, all insturements and sounds are being performed by myself on the recordings.
My music has been filed to the "acoustic rock" category on soundclick.com for clear reasons. There is a fair share of electric guitar played on the album, and bass, and harmonica, and djembe drum and who knows what else i threw in. In general, I find the tones of an acoustic guitar to be much more personal and emotional in the writing stage of things- keeping in mind the great advancements of technological tweaking...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I began writing songs before I could play an insturement, and have been writing since. There were a few years where i couldn't write songs and only wrote poetry, but luckily that has allowed me a lyrical ease in songwriting. When i write a song i am revealing my most personal feelings and stories, but i also make an attempt to make the lyrics universal in the hope that more people will be able to connect with my own experiences.
I generally begin the writing process with chord progressions and a general idea of story line, then it just grows.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've started to play around New Brunswick, at Rutgers University. I intend on playing much more this spring- contact me if you are interested...
Your musical influences
I'm a classic rock and singer song writer man. If i had to narrow down my influences to those most listened to in the last 18 months, it would read: wilco, bob dylan, bruce springsteen, grateful dead, ratdog, counting crows, ben folds, ben kweller, phish, ryan adams.
What equipment do you use?
i use an audio techinca 3035 condensor mic, and i record into my computer with a m audio mobile preamp. My acoustic guitar is a takamine GS 330S, my electric is a danelecto u2, and my bass is an ibanez. The harmonicas are hohner...
