Acoustic Aggression
Acoustic Aggression is an acoustic rock band that blends guitars with rich melodies and dynamic harmonies to create a new sound that will catch your ear. Our music is not overly complex but it is catchy, moving, and unique.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
How are bands born? What brings musicians together and compels them to create musical synergy? The story of Acoustic Aggression is not shocking or amazing, but a story born of chance and friendship.
Where did it all begin? This is a question that cannot be clearly answered. One could look to the early fall of 2002 when Brad Joyce moved to San Luis Obispo and met Damon Grant. You could say that those first rudimentary jam sessions were the beginnings of things to come. But is that looking back far enough? Perhaps the even earlier guitar playing between Damon and Dennis Rolston was when the first idea was born. To put it all into perspective, it was the friendships between these three, and the mutual enjoyment for the creative process of music, which was brought a passing dream into a flashpoint of reality.
It was the brutally hot summer of 2003 in the desert city of Phoenix Arizona where it all seemed to come together. Dennis and Brad made the trip from California for a July 4th party with Damon and his friends. They both brought their guitars. It was within minutes of playing that the three began to realize that a certain musical chemistry was being created. The band was born. Guitars, melody and rich harmony would be the embodiment of their style. An aggressively acoustic style, which pulled the listener in, was their goal. Acoustic Aggression was born.
To complete the band, they added Lindsey Church, a close friend from San Diego whose beauty and talented vocals fused together the Acoustic Aggression sound. The transition was complete. Working off and on at a studio in southern California, the excitement grew as they realized that their ideas were turning into reality. Playing in coffee shops and at a local college for friends, it began to form at a faster and faster rate. It was just beginning.
Today, Acoustic Aggression is still playing whenever the opportunity presents itself. Recording is continuing and new songs are being written. The history of the band is not over, for only the beginning has been written. Enjoy our site. Enjoy our music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live anywhere and everywhere we have the opportunity. So far it's been mostly in the San Diego area. Playing live is what Acoustic Aggression is all about. We feel that if we aren't a good live band than there is no point in being a band at all.
