Jeremy Davis, better known as Young Live of the Starters DJ's and Basix has had a vast journey through music. Starting as a producer at the age of 14, by 16 he was having instrumentals placed on Diplomats (Rocafella) Mixtapes (2000-2001). By 2002 he went solo to put out two mixtapes (Real Time, 4.T.5.), one of which had mention at the Justo Mixtape Awards. Enrolling in Columbia College in 2004 he linked up with Don P. to form the group Tha Basix. They have performed with artists such as Rhymefest and have held residencies with venues around Chicago such as Funky Buddha Lounge. Within the next few years, Young Live linked up with Dj Mop Top to form Starters Dj's. Since then he his outstanding production has made an impact in new wave music that is spanning nationally as well as globally with various singles that have been rated #1's online and reviewed by the likes of NY Magazine. Helping by linking up with Diplo (Mad Decent) and Adam Tensta (Sweden/Grammi Award) the Starters have put various remixes in circulation. He has helped organize events with many of Chicago's top local acts (Million $ Mano, Willy Joy (Fly By Night)). Young Live, Starters and Tha Basix have progressed to performing with artists such as Shawty Lo, Diplo , Wiz Khalifa, Cool Kids, N.A.S.A., DJ Synapse, Designer Drugs, GZA, and Dj Sega.Band/artist history
CHEKK MY INTRODUCTIONHave you performed in front of an audience?I PERFORM WHEREVER THEY'LL LET ME. ACTUALLY THERE WERE 2 SPECIAL MOMENTS. FIRST WAS WAY OUT SOUTH OF CHICAGO. DIPLOMATS WERE GONNA BE AT THIS CLUB AND ME AND A COULPLE OF MY GUYS STARTED UP A SYPHER IN THA PARKIN LOT. NOT THAT WE MET EM OR ANYTING WE JUS KILLED LIKE 15 NIGGAS AND IT REALLY GOT OUR SELF ESTEEM UP. MY NEXT ONE WAS AT A BAR WIT MY COUSIN AND OUR PARENTS WERE THERE. WE DID TWO SONGS. FIRST WAS ABOUT HOW WE DIDNT KNO OUR POPS AND THA NEXT WAS ABOUT HOW MUCH WE BEEN THRU AND APPRECIATE OUR MOTHERS. THEY LOVED IT. THEY CRIED. I LOVED MAKIN MY MOM KNO SHE'S APPRECIATED.
