White Sparrows
This is just a project I do on my own, the only thing is I guess there is another band on here named Mindtrip. Ah well, 09 brings a new change I guess! I do this stuff for fun, I have a long way to go musically, and I try to do this to express whatever stories I have heard from others, or observed. Most of the stuff I write is not about my life, but there are certain subjects where I most definitely feel strong enough to write about. Politics, religion, war. The other personal stuff I write is usually about whatever comes to mind, or a recent event in my life. The rest? Like I said - I write based off what others tell me or the lives I see them live.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Remember when I said this was first called Mindtrip? Actually back in 2007 it was called .Zero and I made really crappy music much different from what it is today. My music still sucks a lot, since I have a long way to go, but it was really quite bad. I also had really bad equipment too, so the sound quality was poor. After that wasn't working out I shifted the name into JetStream, which I put nothing out as since I couldn't find a good sound. Next came just a username I put random stuff out on called Paint, which is essentially the closest thing you'll get to Mindtrip, which is the closest thing you'll get to what I do now. After releasing many cruddy demos as Paint and acoustic covers, I got recording equipment in 08. Then I switched over to the name of Mindtrip and have been doing things since.
Because of the band name thing, it is now White Sparrows. Oh yeah, also just ran by one person doing everything too.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play live because there is only one of me in the band, and therefore it'd be impossible. Sucks though, I wish I had a real band but I just don't have the time to dedicate to one on top of college and work.
Your musical influences
Billy Talent, Zebrahead, Rage Against The Machine, Goldfinger to name some of the really apparent influences I've got going on. Some Modest Mouse styled sounds are starting to appear, but mainly it is overshadowed by the rest there.
What equipment do you use?
Guitar, Amp, Pedal, Computer, EZdrummer. I'm not too technical so really I don't feel like listing all the specs.
Anything else?
I wouldn't classify my stuff as Punk, but it was the only one I could think to fit enough. I don't like restricting myself to just ONE thing all the time, though I generally follow a certain style I guess you could say.
