West End Gentlemens Club
Media "giant" formed in Radford, VA in 2002 when members of The Most (and formerly DPW) and Sherlock moved into an old house on West Main St. While only four people officially lived in the house, it was a home to MANY more.. Mummra formed here..The Brothers Gore formed here....Walter would sleep on the couch and depending on the night, you could count on hearing drunken covers of "Loving Cup" by the Stones..or "Yer So Bad" and "Straight Into Darkness" by Tom Petty...and you wanted to hear them nightly. PR would dance in front of the hodgepodge stereo listening to "Two Headed Dog" until the sun came up.....Musicians would constantly linger around the house, and in 2002 sessions started for what would become WEGC Volume One. Members of all of the WEGC bands would play together to create something entirely new. Death Metal musicians with Power Pop guys...bluegrass jams....swamp rock....it didn't matter, and it still doesn't. While members of the West End Gentlemens Club may live hundreds of miles apart, the rock still lives.... and WEGC Recordings will continue to keep the WEGC spirit alive...minus the late night beer soaked barbeques. --John Robert Sass, Music Historian. 12/4/06
