Oooh. Well, we worked together from 2000 to 2008, and we never really got along for a long time - bit of a clash of personalities. We were chatting one day and the subject just came up and we said 'Yeah, lets start a band !'. Ricky's been playing for years and years, but I'd never really sung anywhere except amatuer dramatics, so it was really spontaneous. We practise 3 times a week-ish and two years later here we are with one album complete, a new one started and a myriad of covers t choose from.
We have just started to play live gigs, which we both really enjoy. The most special has to be that we were the first and currently the ONLY band to play HMS Daring, the Royal Navy's newest type 45 Destroyer in Portsmouth (it's only THE most advanced warship on the planet !). We played for a Help 4 Heroes fundraising night they were having which managed to raise just shy of eight thousand pounds ! Nice.
Any rock influences us really, from anywhere from the 70s right through. The covers we choose are a bit of a telltale. We've got stuff from Deep Purple and Free, through Bryan Adams and Maroon 5 right up to Green Day and Nickelback.
Live, I have an SM58 mic out to a TC Helicon voicelive through to a generic amp and 300 watt speakers, Rick has a number of guitars which include a superb Fender coupled to and a blow-you-away Marshall amp and a great 5 string Yamaha bass.
