FAQ
Why would I need a license?
A license is needed if you want to use the music for anything else than just listening for your pleasure. Typical uses are
  • freestyling over a beat
  • licensing music for use in TV or for a movie
  • remixing or use audio samples
What are the license options and what are the differences between those?
We offer up to 5 license templates (Basic, Premium, Track Out, Unlimited, Exclusive) and it's up to the artist which ones he/she wants to make available. Each license comes with different perks. In general, the higher the price, the better the perks.
You can click on each feature on the left side of the comparison chart above to learn more about each one.
When will I get the track I purchased?
You can download all related files immediately after your purchase. We also email you a one-time download link for a download later.
How can I remove the audio tag from the track?
A "tagged beat" is a demonstration version of an instrumental that contains distinct audio watermarks that typically play throughout the entire track. The purpose of a producer tagging his/her instrumental is to prevent piracy and to encourage serious recording artists to purchase a license.
To get a tag-free audio please make sure you purchase a license which features "untagged audio".
I purchased a $1 download, why is the beat still tagged?
Beats purchased for $1 in our store are meant for streaming and demo use only, just like downloads from iTunes store or Amazon music.
To license a beat without audio tag and to use in a professional manner please buy a license from this page. Usually those are $25 and up.
What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.
Band/artist history
Honestly, its been a long, quiet road. Im not one of those artists that popped out with a cosign or a viral moment. I built myself in the background headphones on, Wi-Fi weak, but the drive was loud. I started making music around 2020, just experimenting at first. I was indoors a lot, not 'cause I was antisocial I just didnt feel like I fit into the usual scene. Music became my voice when I didnt feel heard anywhere else. No studio, no budget, just me, a laptop, and late nights. I didnt have people pushing me. No manager, no label. Just vibes and the internet. I learned how to record, mix, distribute all of it because no one was going to do it for me. Thats where the name Vill-iigent came from. Its like being from a village, but thinking like an intelligent rebel. Low-key but aware. Isolated, but building something real. What kept me going was emotion. Real-life struggles. A daughter I barely get to see. A girl whos stood by me. And this fire that says: Youre meant to be heard, even if youre hidden right now. Now people are starting to notice. Slowly. But Id rather build something meaningful than chase fake moments. This isnt just music to me its survival. Its therapy. Its legacy.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah my first official live performance was at Katutura Fashion Week 2024 at the FNCC. That moment? Different. Im not the kind of artist that craves the spotlight, so stepping on stage in front of a crowd felt like I was exposing a piece of myself I usually keep hidden. But it was powerful. The vibe was electric fashion, art, culture all in one space and I brought the sound. No gimmicks. Just raw emotion and energy. I remember performing Rather Be and seeing a few heads nodding, people locking in even if they didnt know the song. That was the moment I realized: yo, this is bigger than me just making music alone in my room. It wasnt just about performing. It was about representing a voice from the underground, showing up for those who dont usually get seen or heard. That night made me hungrier. I still keep to myself, but now I know the stage has a space for me too when its the right one. That performance lit a fuse. Mores coming.
Your musical influences
My influences arent just other artists theyre emotions, environments, and moments that hit deep. But if were talking sound, I pull from the raw honesty of XXXTentacion, the experimentation of Travis Scott, the storytelling of J. Cole, and the grit of African underground artists who make gold out of struggle. But truthfully, Im just as influenced by silence. Long nights alone. Conversations that left me thinking for days. The feeling of being misunderstood. Even anime soundtracks or weird ambient loops I stumble on at 2AM. I take bits from everything and bend it into something that feels like me. Growing up in Namibia, I didnt see many artists who sounded like what I heard in my head. That pushed me to create my own lane. My sound is influenced by a mix of global energy and local reality its experimental, spiritual, emotional. Sometimes its a cry, sometimes its a warning, sometimes its a vibe. At the end of the day, Im not trying to be anyone. Im just trying to be heard fully, authentically, without filters.
What equipment do you use?
I keep it simple. I dont have a big studio setup or expensive gear I use what Ive got and make it work. Most of my music is made on a basic laptop, using FL Studio. Thats my main DAW Ive been teaching myself how to master it piece by piece. For recording, I use a USB condenser mic, nothing fancy, but clean enough when you know how to tweak it right. I dont have soundproof rooms or pro equipment just blankets, quiet corners, and persistence. Most of my mixing and effects are done digitally, using stock FL plugins and some free third-party VSTs. Ive learned to prioritize feeling over perfection if the emotion is right, thats more important than flawless production. Id rather work with raw tools and real stories than wait on the perfect setup. The gear doesnt define the sound I do.
Anything else?
Yeah just this: Im not here to fit in, Im here to break patterns. Everything I do the sound, the silence, the way I move its intentional. Im not loud on purpose, Im real on purpose. And even if I dont have the hype yet, Ive got the hunger, the vision, and the story. I want people to hear my music and feel something shift even if its just one person at a time. I dont want fans, I want connection. The ones who feel like outcasts, the quiet ones, the ones going through it silently thats who I make this for. So yeah Im just getting started. And if youre reading this, youre part of the journey now. Welcome to the Vill-age.
