Band/artist history
"Its no joke that its a struggle in the music industy. But since day one Valentine has managed to stay real, and true to the music. Being one of only a few true hip hop heads in Verona, He became committed to the hip hop game, and began making beats for other local artists. Beat production soon lead to emceeing, and has been the more dominant aspect of Valentines music career since. In 2004 Valentine performed in the highschool hip hop group the Four Elements, along with Sydnum, Magic Wordz, Kontact, and Concept. The Four Elements was short lived, releasing only one 6 track ep entitled Rap Test. three of the members relocated to British Columbia, and the other remaining member Kontact decided to retire early, which left Valentine to pursue his solo career. In 2005 Valentine released the album From The Ground Up which was locally praised, but lacked enthusiasm and determination, which led to the unsuccess of the album. In 2007, a few years after, and many beats later Valentine linked up with Kingstons hardest working emcee/producer, S-Cape Artist. Over the next few months the Valentine & S-Cape Artist split album Raise The Bar was completed, consisting of 15 hype, pure Canadian hip hop tracks. The album recieved alot of attention and was toured all over ontario for the summer of 2008, opening up for accomplished hip-hop acts such as: Cunninlynguists, DL Incognito, Malicious, Atherton, Spesh K, ect. Upon finishing the split album Valentine was determined to finally finish his second solo album entitled Valentines Day due for release February 14th 2009. Being among the top emcees in Canada has proved to be benefitial for Valentine, holding down a steady committed fan-base, and a full album due for release in the new year.
