Urawo

Urawo is a Nigerian born artist whose music goes beyond the surface to the depths of those who are misunderstood, underrepresented and lonely. Her name meaning “Star in the Ekiti dialect reflects her desire to be a light to the darkness for herself and more like her. Her music blends alternative sound, RnB with an influence of soft rap, coupled with her inclusion of dark themes that tackle heartbreak, societal disappointment, deconstruction and being queer in a world that constantly fights against her freedom the sealing to her magic is the light she holds as a black woman pushing boundaries. Urawo’s goal is to create a community that’s welcoming, a place you never feel judged, a place you never have to fear rejection, a home.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started making music professionally early 2025. Before that I wrote songs for fun and for me music is something I enjoy and must do no matter what.
