Two Games Joined is a band/project that builds on the foundations of nerdcore, and strives to expand as vastly on them as possible. The main idea is to take inspiration, cues, themes and songs from all things nerdy - video games, comics, cartoons, sci-fi and fantasy altogether, etc. - and try to take it in a direction that both sounds cool and carries a cohesive meaning. Two Games Joined rarely operates on songs alone; rather, ideas are constructed into releases (so far only EPs and singles) as a meaningful whole. As a result, Two Games Joined doesn't really have a genre - it's "post-nerdcore" which is a term we made up and pretty much sums up everything written out in this paragraph. Most often, it's some sort of mixture of rock/metal and electronics.
Band/artist history
Two Games Joined began as Gnegon Galek's solo project in 2009. Previously, he'd labeled his songs with his former nickname: DoubleGJ, but there was some confusion between his works and those of another DoubleGJ from Italy. Also, he wanted a more "band-like" name so it would sound better if these songs were to be played live with a band in the future. The first demo EP, "Made of Hate", released in late 2009, was a completely solo work, done almost entirely in Modplug Tracker. During the work on two Homestuck-inspired songs, however, DoubleGJ began asking Flyghtning (then under the moniker Luigi Elettrico) for help with producing the songs. These were published in 2012, and while still labeled as a solo project, it was an undeniable result of teamwork between DoubleGJ and Flyghtning. This cooperation would continue on to two remixes made the same year, of Linkin Park's "Lost in the Echo" and Black Light Burns' "Scream Hallelujah". During this time Kelen, DoubleGJ's long-time friend, was more and more eager to play part in the project as a guitarist. When work on the "Ballistic Bunny" EP began, it was clear that work on the songs was becoming evenly distributed between the three. While DoubleGJ was, and to this day still is the big brain of the project, it was fair and logical to reshape Two Games Joined into a band, even though the trio is scattered all throughout Poland. After the release of "Ballistic Bunny" in 2014, the new form of Two Games Joined solidified and returned with a much more organized production that is 2015's "Beyond" single. Currently, the band still cooperates over the Internet due to distances between each other and there are no plans for turning it into a live act, but time will tell if this is subject to change.
