Tokyo Cigar

Tokyo Cigar is an internationally raised producer/MC currently based in Columbia MD.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Repping Nigeria, London, Dublin and Maryland ( peace to VA and D.C. ). Tokyo is a complex but cool cat. He can go from uplifting tetimonials about life or pen bone chilling morbid tales that push the edge of sanity and reason. The same can be said of his production style which can conjure up either images of a 70's basement party or a war taking place in a hyper industrial Blade Runner type of scene. Using FLSTUDIO, Fruity Loops 3 and Soundforge exclusively Tokyo rocks an intricate, mainly sample free production style that manages to bleed emotion out of something as lifeless as a computer. He also makes Instrumental compositions under the alias name Akira Parker. The name change is due to the fact the songs under the name Akira Parker reflect a style that cannot be classified as hip hop more like a robot walking through a futuristic city at night with a fly fur coat on while explosions ring in the background. Tokyo has rhymed on WMUC 88.1 and performed at the legendary Capital City Records Tru Skool where he rhymed with m.c.'s such as Flex Matthews and Shambalah as well as seeing cats like Damu the fudgemunk and Kev Brown catch wreck. "Music is Life" is more than just a statement to him. It trully indicates how much music means to him because it tends to overpower alot of his time in a way that would damn near be considered an unhealthy obsession but eveybody has their own "thing" and his is simply BANGING OUT ILL JOINTZ!!! So fall back enjoy the music and let the dude do him. PEACE
