Tiny and the Hitones
TINY and the HI-TONES left us a special snapshot of the NY night club circuit. Specializing in Big Band, Jazz, Italian love songs, and comtemporary pop hits of the 50's, 60's and 70's they delighted countless numbers of dancing partygoers. They were known to perform at many shows across the NYC and its bouroughs, at many events and occasions both large and intimate. Tiny's band generally consisted of many fine drummers including Harry Plock, Jack Nourijanian on accordian, Bobby DiPrisco on trumpet and, of course, Tiny himself on lead vocals and bass guitar. Careful attention should be paid to the musical stylings of legendary Bobby DiPrisco with his fluid and quite lyrical trumpet playing. The Hi-Tones featured several fine percussionists over the years including at many times Tiny's own son, Francis Jr. Combine these great musicians with the always spot on, moving accordion of the late Jack Nourijanian and Tiny's singing, you'll soon find these guys were spectacular in their delivery. You can now enjoy those lost moments of their happy times performing together, captured here in this new digital album.

From the Producer
Dear Listener,
I wanted to share with you the facts of this session and how it became an understandbly pleasurable endeavor of mine. I had originally heard these recordings at an early age, many times from Tiny himself, my Grandfather. After he had passed I thought I would never hear them again.
After several years, the topic of his work came up in a conversation I had with my grandmother. She proceeded to pull out an old tape, the only tape, that she still had of his recordings. Now let me be clear that my grandfather went to great lengths to keep these archives in a good condition. Listening to the tape I could not help but wonder how long this tape would eventually last. I contemplated the idea of strengthening them sonically, as I had the tools to do so, and preserving them for future listeners. I begged her to let me have them for a short time and she kindly obliged.
I will not reveal my production tricks and technique here, as I wish the new listener to form his or her own opinion of this finished print. All songs are here free for download. May you enjoy listening to them, and sharing them with your family and friends. Tiny and his Hi Tones certainly would have wanted you to do just that.
