BIOGRAPHY
Theodore Chris Rego (real surname Kontoriggas) was born in Pineville, Kentucky - a grandson of Greek immigrants from Tenedos into Appalachia. His music career began with playing in neighborhood bands around Lexington, KY in the mid to late 1960's. One working band was "The Bombers" with John Heinrich, Mike Birch, and Brian Shelly.
In 1982, Theo graduated with a B.A. in music, Summa cum Laude, from Arizona State University. He studied theory and composition with professors/composers Roger Harris, Glenn Hackbarth, and Ronald LoPresti. He also studied classical guitar with Professor Frank Koonce and Robert Reberger.
