The Silver Bugs
We are The Bummers. Right now we are a modest father and son duo, but hopefully we can get a few more members to jam out with. We are from Hickory, NC; a small sort of hick town if you will, so that comes out in some of our songs.
Scratch the name, there was a band who already had that name, so I just changed it to The Silver Bugs. Why? I believe in aliens...google it!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We've been playing together for years. It's just my dad and me, so we would go down to the basement and play.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
It's hard for us to play live or put together live shows, because we live in different states and see each other maybe 6-8 times a year for like a weekend, so hard to do...but that doesn't mean we never will. My dad loves playing out. I know because he did it all the time when I was a kid...can't blame someone for doing what their passion is. I understand the urge to do that now that I'm a musician myself. Oh, and playing music for other people is a really good time for me as well.
Your musical influences
I have different influences than he does, but one band we can both agree on is Lynyrd Skynyrd.
What equipment do you use?
Yamaha keyboards, Ibanez electric, Takamimi accoustic electrics, bose effects processors, Roland condensor mics, and cakewalk recording equipment. Oh and Marshal amps.
