The Peppermint Confederacy

We're but a meager three piece folk/indie/alt country project from Woodstock, GA. We make happy songs for sad people and pretty songs for angry people.
Band/artist history
The project started in Jacksonville, Florida 2004 when my mom passed away and I needed to record a song I wrote for her. I went to my friend Johnny and he had a little digital recording device and a couple dynamic mics set up and we ended up making an 8 song EP entitled "The Pretence of a Wonderful Moment". We played a few live shows and people seemed to respond well to our sound so we worked on another CD the following year called "There's No Such Thing as Zero". A few more live shows, a bit of success getting heard online, and then we ended up parting ways. I moved to Marietta GA and continued to use the project as my songwriting outlet and do small coffee house gigs and whatnot. I released a full length CD in 2006 entitled "Glorybaby" which had very little response, almost no promotion, and only a couple small coffee house shows after its release. I've still never had it pressed. My attempt to make my own copies failed miserably after my friend Solomon and I realized that screen printing on things like CD covers could be a little bit tricky. After that album failed I decided to put the project on hiatus and focus on other musical endeavors. In the Summer of 2007 I was introduced to two guys who were good musicians and seemed pretty enthusiastic about playing folk/alt country stuff. We started jamming and writing and eventually reformed this project. We played a show together and have just finished The Peppermint Confederacy's third full length album, "In the Rain of Daylight". It appears I'll be moving to Michigan though, so no live shows for a little while.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I've played quite a few shows over the lifespan of the project, but the current lineup has only done one live gig at some warehouse in Atlanta. Fun show.
Your musical influences
Mark Kozelek, Sam Beam, Will Oldham, Nick Drake, Devendra Banhart, Neil Young, Sufjan Stevens, Radioheas, Azure Ray, Elliot Smith, The Allman Brothers, Jim Croce, The Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, Simon and Garfunkel
What equipment do you use?
An old, beat up Hohner Countryman. Greg and Chris have gadgets too. I'll have to ask them what they want me to put here.
