Experimental

Old, old... 20+ years old 4 track mayhem. Quirky, weird, sometimes trying too hard to sound normal, sometimes not caring. Never sticking to one genre. A hodgepodge of an audio identity crisis. Some incomplete ideas thrown in too. It was what it was and now I posted it just for kicks...

Band/artist history

Lifer musician. Started my first band in 12th grade, playing bass, writing songs and singing. Started 2nd band a few years later with same duties. Didn't really have any particular style; I was faithful to, so no one really understood what I was up to. Got my first drum machine and started putting together experimental hip hop stuff. It never really took off, but people were starting to like my flavor at least. Went through more band formulas after moving to L.A. from Berkeley, CA in 1990. Played in one band for over a year, and played several local venues, to very satisfied audiences. Lost interest, though, and went solo again. Experimented with combining several styles under one sound...... It never took off. Still messed around with stuff off and on, then acquired some decent equipment finally, dedicated my music to God under the name JAS and had some local success with Christian rap/pop/r&b in Southern Cali. I have collaborated recently with another Christian Artist named Clarence Ferguson Jr. online. Right now I'm just putting up some old stuff I've been transferring from tape (got a whole box of tapes...lol), when I used to have only a 4 track. This stuff is 20+ years old and some of it I just kinda like.

What equipment do you use?

I have a decent little computer based set up now with a midi keyboard, midi drums, guitar, bass, tone of software and pro-tools. OrDeal is old skool though on 4 track with a drum machine, guitar, bass and very few effects.
