The Florence Nightingale Effect

My band consists of me (Matt Maranan) and sometimes a bunch of other friends that want to help out whether its actual composing of songs, playing a solo, or doing some vocals. Hopefully 2009 I'll put out a proper release.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In 2003-2004 me and my friend started a band called Catastrophy. After hunting for other fellow musicians and writing tons of material we realized it couldn't happen. Either because other people in our band were in other bands, or because some people didn't quite have the chops yet.(im sure they do now!). After highschool the band was no more. While they did their thing so did I. I figured out how to make drums on a program called Fruity Loops. It wasn't the greatest thing ever but it sure beat anything we previously had. and on 7/9/2006 The Florence Nightingale Effect was born.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live when im with my family. Our entire family is composed of fairly capable musicians and one of our favorite past times is just to jam out. Play some parties etc. etc.
Your musical influences
This would take all day to put as the spectrum of influences ranges from Blink-182 to Coltrane to Meshuggah to Pop Music to Guthrie Govan. Its quite immense.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars: DeArmond M-55 Ibanez S-370 with Dimarzio Evo's in the bridge. Ibanez RG-350 with Dimarzio Tone Zone in bridge and Air Norton in neck Bass: Bestler 4 String Standard Accessories: Line-6 PodXT (amazing red bean of death!) Adobe Audition 1.5 (the DAW I've been using forever) Addictive Drums sequenced in Fruity Loops Studio.
Anything else?
There are only two types of music, Good and Bad.
