The Fisticuffs
Alriiight, The Fisticuffs. Most importantly, despite the name, there is only one Fisticuff at the moment and that's me, Randy. I'm in the process of starting a band (probably not with this name), but in the meantime I thought it would be cool to get my songs out there and see how people enjoy them.
Some may call my music punk or pop punk. I tend to think of it as heavily punk-influenced alternative rock. And yes, I'm comfortable using genres to define me, because I don't have my head up my ass, and I'm not groundbreaking. I do, however, think you will enjoy at least one song I have presented here. Care to prove me wrong?
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
First in Flight was formed in 2003 as a one man band, then moved to three men, then back to one. First in Flight has come a long way from its pessimistic beginnings, where Backstreet Boys and Otown were the main inspirations. Armed with the crappiest equipment imaginable, FiF aspires to improve every day, hoping to melt a face or two along the way. WE ARE NOW THE FISTICUFFS!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Unfortunately, I've never played live. Ha, that would be quite a sight though, seeing as stage fright is my middle name.
Your musical influences
I get influence from a lot of places. To be honest, I'm not even really all that into pop punk, though my main muse is The Offspring. Lately, I've been really into folk and poppy, top 40 stuff. BUT PLEASE LISTEN, MY STUFF ISN'T FOLK OR POP.
