The Dawn of Mosaic

emcee/beatmaker, hip-hop like food for the soul...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Hey my name is James Safarik, i also go by mouse the prodigy or mickey the mouse (or just mouse) and Mosaic (alot of "m" names i guess), I'm seventeen years old, and i'm an emcee/beatmaker from the state of Nebraska. My parent's are involved in Chirstian ministry so i've moved around a little bit, i was born in Taiwan, but other than that i've only moved around the state at this point in my life. I first got into hip-hop and rap music when i was growing up in Omaha. I'd always been into music, and when i was about 13 years old i began to write my own poetry/prose on a regular basis. After that i began battling neighborhood kids for fun and trying to get my name out there as an emcee. But just as i was begining to gain ground in my own immature endeavers, my Dad lost his job but was soon offered another one in another part of the state, in Hyannis, where i live now. Hyannis is in an area that is about as far from "hip-hop" as you can get lol, but through my expereince in this area i've learned how to retain my integrity as well as grow as an artist, musically, lyrically and spiritually lol. I guess i'd really have to thank God for helping me adjust to my surroundings, because otherwise i'd probably be more lost then i already am. There's a saying that i heard on both Ghostface Killah's, Ironman, and most notabely Raekwon the Chef', Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, (both of the Wu-Tang Clan), it goes "If you don't know where you came from, you sure as hell don't know were your going to be" or somthing like that...and i think that fits my situation perfectly, i'm not going to pose and try to be somthing i'm not, that's not where i came from. What i can do is embrace my past and look toward the future...though i may not know what it has in store for me, or anyone else for that matter, i think the best thing we can do is just move forward with all the passion and power that we have as a movement. Right now i feel that the same energy that was present at the birth of every musical genre is at work now, the momentum is building, so let's build it together, as a people as a movement,.. One Love, piece...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing Live, i've done a show in Lincoln at Box Awesome, but i'm open to wherever whenever...
