The Burgoo Kings
We're an urban sour-mash burgoo bash band from Louisville Kentucky. We've been doing this for a year or two or three--and hope anyone happening onto this website likes what they hear.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We've all been doing music for years in different bands as well as together. This particular group started recording about 5 years ago and we don't intend to quit till we get it done right.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live every Wed. in Louisville KY at Positively
So Fourth St and we love it.
Your musical influences
I will give my influences, the songwriter for the group. The rest of the band could make up another long list I'm sure. But I list James Brown, Dylan, The Dead, The Band, B. Marley, B. Cockburn, J. Hiatt,Y n'Dour,Salif Keita, Los Van Van, Neville Bros, Steely Dan--to name a few
What equipment do you use?
Personally, I use a Seagull acoustic-electric, a Gibson 1970 Hummingbird, a Paul Reed Smith Electric, a Shure beta 87a for live vocal and a Studio Projects C1 condenser for vocals in our studio.
