Surf Rock

We are The Boss Jaguars! a four piece Instrumental Rock band based in Austin Texas specializing in Surf, Spy, Spaghetti Western, Hot Rod and Exotica. Rooted in the wild guitars and pounding rhythms of the great West Coast bands from the 1960s, our sound ranges from Rockin to Rumba; Exotic to Full-Throttle Hot Rod. One minute, youre partying at the beach the next, youre catching a wave to the stars and beyond.
Band/artist history
Surf Rock & Rollin' since 2010. Built this band around four veteran musicians who wanted to play original instrumental Rock tunes. We average 60 or so gigs a year with no signs of letting up.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Why, yes. Yes, we do. Austin, San Antonio, Central Texas and beyond. Special moments? One time a boat caught on fire behind us. We played through sirens and firemen with hoses rushing past and around us to get to the fire. That was fun.
Your musical influences
Direct influences on this band are Dick Dale, The Ventures and all the great surf and instrumental bands from the 50s and 60s. But, since we've all been at it for awhile and played just about everything, you could say just about any genre: Jazz, Country, Rockabilly, World, Latin, Classical etc., etc...
What equipment do you use?
Fender Guitars and Basses - Jaguar, Jazzmaster, P-Bass. Fender Amps - Showman, Temolux, Bassman. Gretsch and Rogers Drums. LP Percussion. LeBlanc Trumpets.
Anything else?
