The BENNY BENACK Band
We've been around forever playing jazz, swing, big band and dixieland. You might get confused when searching online because my dad was BENNY BENACK, a prominent Pittsburgh bandleader in the 60s, 70s and 80s, I'm BENNY BENACK JR, still active in and around town, and my son is BENNY BENACK III, an up and coming jazz trumpet player.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live all the time, and love it. We're all about having fun and making our audiences join in the fun. There's no "attitude" in the band that tries to play for each other more than the folks listening to what we play.
What equipment do you use?
SELMER saxes and clarinet, although really liking an LA SAX soprano I recently picked up. I also play a Cannonball Tenor Sax which is ok for certain styles.
