Texas Pete were a product of the Soviet Cold War Super-Soldier programme; a series of bizarre and unnatural experiments carried out in Siberia's mysterious Twanguska Station. Designed and trained behind the iron curtain as deep cover operatives, the unit's directive was to infiltrate the Western music industry utilising the powerful sonic manipulation and rhythmic mind-control abilities they had been imbued with, and to use the resulting fame to subvert capitalist youth. However, prolonged exposure to rock and roll, chilli sauce and hot-rods seems to have corrupted the group's programming, causing them to reject their mission directives and follow their own, unsanctioned agenda. Through a determinedly ramshackle approach and reluctance to conform to notions of marketability, the group successfully evaded record company interest, eschewing their prime directive to become rogue sonic warriors on a rampage of surf 'n' roll sabotage. Intermittent line-up changes were insufficient to re-instate the group's original mission objectives and the unit was finally (officially) disbanded with the termination of the Super-Soldier programme in 2005.
