Born and raised in the low country of Aiken, SC, Tiara Cherelle Johnson, Tee Beats, is a twenty year old female with a fresh new take on the music production industry. With an extensive music background dating back to her middle school years, she is a proficient percussionist holding regional and state recognition from the SCBDA (South Carolina Band Directors Association) in 6th grade through graduation from Silver Bluff High School in Petticoat Junction, SC. She lead the Silver Spirit Drumline for three years, but upon graduation accepted a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina- Aiken to play college softball. A sophomore year injury left her unable to finish her college career, and in July of 2007, she moved to Greenville, SC to embark on a new life and began producing beats. With extensive knowledge in music and computers it took her no time to learn the trade. In 6 months, she learned how to produce industry quality tracks. Known as one of very few female producers, she has far exceeded the talent of many male producers across the nation. She is the oldest of three girls and the only one in her family who is musically oriented. She has taken the crown at two beat battles across South Carolina, and has taken a lot of unfairness from males at others, but her ability to achieve and her work ethic is like no other. "Sun UpSun DownBeats are being made like air is being inhaled." No female has ever attempted to take on the music production industry and succeeded because she is that ONE.Have you performed in front of an audience?I compete in Beat Battles. I love what I do, and I love to express my talent. I won the 5th round on the Battle of the Beats @ Alley Gators on Pelham Rd. in Greenville in February of 2008 and the NC/SC qualifying Beat Battle in March of 2008.
Your musical influences
My influences are Timbaland, David Banner, Kane Beatz, Nitti, and Scott Storch. I like a lot of oldies for inspiration and I keep Tupac and Biggie on deck. BUT on the other hand, MY BEATS DON'T SOUND LIKE ANYBODY ELSE'S.What equipment do you use?
