TRiXX BuNDY
The newest product of Queens NYC, Trixx serves as the wrench in the hip-hop industry, redefining the expectations and standards of "gangsta rap" to include a different perspective. Trixx's appeal lies in his street realism within his lyrical content, as well as his ability to relate with listeners of all races and classes, from the thorough street corner to the university.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Trixx has performed all over the club scene of New York City, in popular venues such as Webster Hall, Limelight (now Avalon), Cheetah, and is a regular at Speeed. His performances are full of adrenaline and hard-hitting flows, entertaining to hip-hop fans and artists alike. That's why Trixx is "your favorite rapper's favorite rapper."
Your musical influences
Trixx's large stature draws neighborhood comparisons to an "Italian B.I.G.," and Trixx admits that Notorious B.I.G. is his greatest influence. Other lyrical geniuses who have provided inspiration for Trixx include Nas, Kool G Rap, Naughty By Nature, and Onyx.
What equipment do you use?
Trixx records at "Cuckoo's Nest" Recording Studio, a $100,000 facility located in Ridgewood, Queens. The clarity and dominance in his voice, though natural, is brought out more via the combination of the Neumann u87 microphone and the Avalon VT737 preamp. Serious artists require serious equipment, and Trix is well-equipped with the Digidesign Pro Tools HD3 system. OutDaFace Productions, Trix's production team, is equipped with the AKAI MPC4000XL, Korg Triton, Roland V-Synth, and Korg MS2000 keyboards for the most up-to-date sound banks and digital style.
