Triggerrun (TRP) is one of the greatest hidden treasures in underground music. In the fall of 1993, TRP would perform center stage at the Apollo Theatre & change the world of hip-hop with an eclectic ensemble that would introduce to the world the Next Gen hip-hop dance revolution and spin-offs like America's Best Dance Crew, You Got Serve and Stomp The Yard!
Band/artist history
TRIGGERRUN started as a rap/dance group performing at local talent shows with the goal of winning money to support our music career.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Our biggest television performance was in the fall of 1993, TRP would perform center stage, season six (6), the Apollo Theatre.
in the summer of 94, the group would venture down south to team up on with Uncle Luke headlined by Miami Bass artist BeatMaster Clay D and Total Kaos as the opening act to promote their first indie single release, Pump Ya Fist.
Fast forward four years after to1998, Trigger Run would travel north to the new Motown known as Atlanta to perform their second indie release single Toss It Up at the Aquarium.
Your musical influences
As a dancers growing up it was Michael Jackson, James Brown, New Edition and Hammer to name a few.
As hip-hop artist, it's Eric B and Rakim, Nas, 2Pac, Biggie, Busta Rhymes, Fugees, etc.
What equipment do you use?
Pro Tools, Logic and any other internet DAW technology that I can employ.
Anything else?
Trigger Runs underground music revolution created a cosmetic shift that would resonate throughout the city and re-inspired a musical revolution not known since the days of Albanys own, Ray Charles, blessed the city with his great musical talent.
Their influence would help unearth a wealth of undiscovered talent thus inspiring an underground music revolution that would birth the independent record label Southern House, inspire the start of the iconic Platinum Sound Studios and introduce to the world, none other than the mighty hip-hop group sensation, Field Mob.
