TME Studios - The Music Experience
The Music Experience Studios (TME Studios) is a full service recording studio located in the greater Cincinnati area. We are an audio production facility for Bands, Solo artists, Film/Video, and much more. We even do Video editing and Graphic Arts! One question that comes up quite a bit is what kind of music do we specialize in. The answer is everything!
We have recorded Rock/Hard Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Pop, Techno/House, Ambient, New Age, Jazz, Blues, Garage (Think White Stripes), Classical, Punk and Hardcore and quite a bit of Metal up to and including Extreme Metal. We've even recorded Ethnic/World Music and Folk! We do have a little experience with Hip-Hop and Rap, but rarely are demanded for those genres. We have done commercial work, mixing for Video/Film, live recording and restoration/cleanup.
We've recorded Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Drums and various percussion. Acoustic, Upright and electric bass, and other stringed instruments including Violin and Cello. We've had some Brass and Woodwinds including wood flute and even harmonica!
One advantage that TME Studios has over other studios is TME's Music School. We have classically trained Voice teachers, Guitar Teachers, Instrument Repair and a group of Composers at our disposal. With all of this talent assembled in one place, we have plenty of Session Musicians to work with that can play an incredible variety of styles and instruments.
We of course can cover all aspects of recording and have contacts with several industry services including management, promotion, distribution and more! We also have backgrounds in Graphic Arts and Design and Media Publication. To top it all off, we have an excellent Mastering engineer to work with.

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Music Experience was created by Joe Cowens after years of music teaching. TME's School of Music was established and shortly after that Joe began TME Studios with several different engineers, but primarily with Aaron Schilling from Mentality Studios. As of 2009 TME Studios became Aaron's main studio, delegating Mentality Studios as a personal project studio only. Aaron has over 15 years of experience with computer based DAW recording, beginning in 1998 well before it became the norm. Our staff has several members with Masters Degrees in Music from several acclaimed universities in several primary fields. We take great pride in our knowledge and experience and are always looking for great talent and projects to develop.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Our studio owner plays in a very respected band in the greater Cincinnati area called "Cowens & Co." and also play guitar for the extreme metal band "Warfather". Our primary engineer plays in southeastern Indiana's "Coldshovel" who are re-uniting in 2014 for their 10 year anniversary, and also is the solo/main member of the extreme metal band "DIS". TME Studios has a complimentary staff from TME's School of Music. All of TME's staff have years of experience both live and in studio.
