South 52
South 52 is comprised of Stacy Grubb and Jessi Shumate on vocals, Charlie Davis on dobro and banjo, Steve Acord on fiddle and mandolin, Nathan Lawson on guitar, and Alan Johnston on bass and vocals. They play a wide range of songs from rock to country but do it all on bluegrass instruments.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
South 52 is not your everyday run of the mill bluegrass band. Just come out to a show and listen to their special treatment of songs from ZZ Top to Ralph Stanley plus a vast array of original songs and you'll see for yourself! Their new CD, Sweet Appalachia, is complete and consists of 16 songs of which 15 are original songs written by Alan and Stacy.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live at local venues which are mostly outside shows in the summer months. We do a few inside shows in the winter months namely The Little Opry and the middle school in Princeton, WV.
