Some Know Name Band is a one man band represented by Mind Myth. A decade of experience ranging from playing instruments to playing shows, recording to improvising. The artistic disorder started primarily as a drummer. Mind's first drum set was found on the side of the road. Ten years later Mind has made Know Name for himself. He has played in multiple bands and with multiple musicians. He toured the country in 2012 with an another some no name band for 3 1/2 months, in 22 states, at 59 shows, living in a van, living the musician lifestyle. Now, Mind is transforming his artistic vision from a blacked out sight to a drunken reality. In the past 9 months, Myth has recorded 19 original songs, 10 acoustic versions of those songs, and 4 music videos. Mind is a drummer, bassist, guitarist, self producer, self recorder, self manager, self editor, self writer, self director and self employed. His intentions? Making the abnormal, normal one step at a time and releasing his art to the masses.Band/artist history
Well I started as a drummer when I was 14. My first drum set was found on the side of the road and given to me by my cousin. From their I started developing my talent as a drummer. My first band was called SUI (Somewhere Under the Inversion/Stigmata Umbra Incunabula) which eventually turned into KO (Kashed Out/Know Origin). I played with them from the age of 14 to 18. During that time and after I was also developing my talent with guitar and bass along with drums. Played with musicians here and there, then went on tour with some other no name band. I described that up above. About a little less than a year later I started doing drum covers and put them on youtube. I discovered that I could finally record my own music, (my little secret.) And so it came that I, and only I, recorded all the instruments, wrote everything in all the songs, and started getting better at recording. Some of it is improvised, some already written. I am the only member in Some Know Name Band.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have played live just not with Some Know Name Band because I would only be able to play acoustic. However, I did to a 3 and a half month tour with a different kind of some no name band. Toured 22 states, played 59 shows, lived in a van, lived off of beef jerky and chips, and took horse showers. It really put in perspective things we would take for granted. I am so grateful I have a bed, shower, toilet, food, water, income, ect. It was 100% a life changing experience.
Your musical influences
Life, Death, Love, Hate, Loss are the first and foremost influences. Now musicians who started the developing aspect of my talent were bands such as Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, 90's Marilyn Manson, Type O Negative and so on. After that and even today influencing me to keep making music are The Melvins, Local H, Fugazi, Clutch, (all being underated and underestimated) Howlin Wolf, Deltron 3030, Mos Def, all different kind of genre's.What equipment do you use?
Honestly, whatever works. I don't make much money so I don't a choice, especially that I live on my own, have tons of bills, and work at a dead end job. If it was my choice, Ludwigs and Zijilins for drums, Fender Stratocasters (which I got lucky and do have one) and Gibson Les Paul, and here I'll be honest again, I don't really know about bass at all. All I know is that I have a really nice PeeVee, which I also got lucky in getting it.Anything else?
