After finalizing the decision to peruse a career in music, Dylan Reidler (Kold) and Dillon Vandervort (Eternity) started with just computer mics, laptops and the audio editing software Audacity. Sending emails back and forth to each other containing mp3s of vocals and instrumentals because of the restraint of living on opposite sides of Omaha, NE, they soon found themselves following their dreams. After just five months of making sketchy songs, writing random lyrics, and free styling about everything they could, they decided to create a makeshift home studio in Dylans basement. Constantly driving back and forth every weekend to record, their budget was soon getting smaller. Not being tainted by price limitations and distance problems, they pushed forward; recording more and more songs every day, they knew in their hearts A Career in music was for them. Currently Dylan is attending metro community college, in Omaha, NE to obtain his GED, and soon to move forward to ITT-Tech, Also of which is in Omaha, NE to get a Degree as a Musician. Dillon is currently attending Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA. Both at the age of 16, they know the path they have chosen will not be easy. When asked about it they simply replied, Its not about the fame or the money; we simply love music and want to share it with the world. When asked about the name Society of silence they exclaimed, The meaning behind the name is simple, we write about normal things that happen to everyday people, the things that society has no idea of. Being both serious and funny with a cross between rock and rap, we feel we are bringing a new genre of music to the music industry. I guess you could say we write about those fuck my life moments, the ones where you just want to break down and give up on everything. For instance this happened to a man in Florida, Today, my son looked out of the window and said "what's that piece of shit doing on our driveway?" It was the new car we were trying to surprise him with on his 16th birthday. FMLYour musical influences
