Sgt. J

My first exposure to music besides radio and cds was at the age of 7 when my mom signed me up for violin lessons. I don't play strings anymore, but I picked up the Trumpet at the age of 8 and that was when my love for music developed into what it is now. At the age of 13, I started to experiment with FL studio (and started playing my horn across the city of Chicago). Now, I know "oh no, not FL", but I actually learned how to use it in depth, you know actually utilizing the piano roll, etc. - the right way to use the software. But to fast forward a little bit, at 17 I picked up trombone and started experimenting with Maschine. I couldn't afford it ha, so I would go to Guitar Center to try it out damn near every day. This is when I was in Nashville attending Nashville School of the Arts High School. (I'm from Chicago, but I moved during my Jr. year of HS - LONG story). I'm well versed I guess; I know the North and the South. More power to me right? But now, I own and possess a Maschine by Native Instruments. This is what I produce with.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have played my horn live, but not recently. Some of my most special moments was playing at the House of Blues; with Bobby Blue Bland at BB Kings in Memphis; and playing for the Country Music Association in Nashville.
Your musical influences
I grew up in Chicago. I was armed with College Dropout in the 4th grade. Damn, that was long ago. I guess you can tell who my main influence is.
What equipment do you use?
Maschine integrated with other softwares. My fellow producers know what I'm talking about.
Anything else?
I'm candid, mature, laid back, and down to earth.
