Sean Eric Howard

I'm a classical guitarist living in Kentucky. I've played in public a lot and paid my way through college with money from playing weddings.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started music lessons in 3rd grade with trumpet. I began playing guitar in the summer between my 10th and 11th grade years at school. I graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Music degree in performance. An injury kept me from moving further and I didn't pick the instrument up again until 2007. I've taught at the college on and off for years.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've performed many times. I played for Kentucky Governor Wallace Wilkinson at the Governor's mansion in Frankfort as a student and I've played in numerous recitals and churches.
Your musical influences
My biggest influences are Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, Carles Trepat, Andrew York, Liona Boyd, and Maximo Diego Pujol.
What equipment do you use?
I own three instruments: a Ramirez, a 2015 Don Boarman, and my prized guitar "Lady" built by the luthier Richard Reynoso.
