SKYY is a Washington, D.C.-based rapper, singer, and songwriter whose sound fuses R&B, rap, and pop with emotional depth and raw authenticity. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Honestly, I started writing before I even knew what I wanted to say or how I wanted to say it. It just came natural to me. The more I would write the more I would be introduced to different platforms of writing. I got my first set up and took off writing songs daily -- perfecting my craft and I haven't looked back.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I live to perform on stage! It's such a rush! The excitement and anxiety of it all propels me.
Your musical influences
I am always a student even when I'm teaching. Life is my biggest influence. Otherwise, Janet, Michael, Prince, Jimi, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Babyface are where I start.

Protools, BlueBird mic, Macbook pro, Yamaha 7s, and a suite full of plug ins!
