My name is Edward Sun, and I live in and am from Atlanta, Georgia. My stage name is Rok, which stands for Representing Our King. I've decided to dedicate all of my music to glorifying the Lord; I am a Christian rapper.Band/artist history
I got the idea to begin writing Hip Hop music after watching Eminem's film, "8 Mile." I dont really understand why or how, but it really inspired me to start writing. I had the idea to begin doing music in the back of my head, but I never really started until I started listening to more Christian Hip Hop. Their music also inspired me, especially an artist named, "Lyricks." In addition, my brother had also been writing music for a long time, so he gave me a push to start as well.
When I first started writing songs, I didn't really focus them on God, but I wrote whatever came to my mind. I realized that when I started writing music for Christianity, it was a lot easier. So I figured that I would be more fit to be a Christian Hip Hop artist, with the idea that God was also there with me, as he gave me a sign through the ease of writing when it was for His glorification.Have you performed in front of an audience?At the moment, because I'm not known that well, I don't do many live concerts. However, I've done it for a small group of friends and one time for a church, but that was only one song.

Your musical influences
Eminem was a huge influence; he showed me that anyone could achieve what they wanted as long as they set their mind to it.
Lecrae was another big influence, because he was the first Christian Hip Hop artist I heard, and he also planted the idea to start writing Christian Hip Hop in me.
God is the overall influence. If it wasn't for Him, I wouldn't even be in music.What equipment do you use?
