Band/artist history
Started rapping in the 90's to instrumentals on the backside of singles cassettes. It made me love instrumentals as much as regular tracks. I wanted to create my own, I bought my first beat maker.. a Roland MC 303. Since then it has been an evolution of sound, experimentation, and polishing to create big high quality beats in Hip Hop and infused with other complimentary genres.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have had many live performances as a younger MC, now I stay mostly in the studio helping the younger guys polish their skills. My most memorable performance was in Denver, Colorado on 4/20 for the annual 420 rally and celebration for Marijuana Advocates. There was people as far as my eyes could see, 50,000+.. My biggest live crowd ever, and everybody was smoking in the park.
Your musical influences
My influences are people that yall would think are obvious.. Dr. Dre would have to be my top though.. His beats helped create a structure for hip hop without having to be told. intros, chorus/hook, verse.. I learned about counting bars thru analyzing Dre's beats.
What equipment do you use?
I currently have a custom rig for my home studio. When solo im creating in Reason and utilizing its power along with some extensions. I love creating with live instrumentalists too so my audio interface is fun, A Presonus StudioLive 16.4.1, All vocals processed thru Avalon 737, Basic AKG mic.
Anything else?
I am just one part of an amazing circle of artists and producers I have had the privilege of working with thru the years. Music is the most motivating part of my life and I wish to share the positivity with others.
