Band/artist history
Im Reetban, a rapper from San Isidro, Buenos Aires. Since I was a kid, music has been my way of expressing myself. I started writing lyrics at 12, looking for a way to channel my thoughts and emotions. Ive always been an introverted person, spending more time at home than on the streets, and it was there where I found rap as a way to connect with myself and the world.
As I got older, I realized that to fund my career, I needed more than just writing. Thats when I began producing my own beats. Today, I sell my instrumentals online, which allows me to keep developing my music and not rely on other sources to move forward.
My goal remains the same: to live off what I do, keep creating, and never lose my essence as an artist. Every beat I sell brings me one step closer to that dream.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I havent performed live yet, but Ive participated in several rap tournaments and won a trophy. That was one of the most important experiences for me, as it showed me that my hard work was paying off and that I could compete seriously.
Must be cool/terrifying to play live, right?
Although I havent played live, I know it must be a mix of adrenaline and nerves. But what I really want is to reach that point, to be in front of the people and feel my music connecting with them.
Your musical influences
My influences mainly come from Spanish artists like ZarcortGame, Kronno Zomber, and Porta. In Argentina, Im inspired by artists like Wos, Trueno, and Wolty, who bring a fresh and authentic style.
What equipment do you use?
My heroes are those artists who knew how to connect with people through their lyrics, like Porta and Wos. They push me to keep creating and evolving as an artist.
Anything else?
I work with a desktop PC, using Reaper and FL Studio to record all my projects. With those, I can create and produce my music from scratch.
