Band/artist history
Meanz of Operation (M.O.) is definitely one of the premier duos of today. The group is made up of two Jacksonville, Fl. natives, A.C.E & RanMan. Not just content on putting out more of the same music, which they could easily do and make a quick buck. They strive to be unique. Together they collaborate on all different types of concepts, styles, and genres of music. The end result is always amazing. From club tracks, to laid back tracks. From hip hop, to all out rap music. They do it all! A.C.E, also an established beat producer, is one of the best lyricist of his time. He started putting words and concepts together at a very young age and fell in love with the craft. His great beat making abilities really came as an accident. "I got tired of producers in my area trying to over charge me for these simple 1-2-3 beats that I could make myself, so that?s what I did. I went from being a good producer to better to best.? The rest is history. Now when M.O. needs a fresh new trend setting beat to record on, A.C.E just makes it himself. RanMan, however, came into the craft very differently. First introduced to A.C.E by a mutual associate, RanMan hadn?t yet realized his love for all things music. He later found that music would be just one of many common interest that A.C.E and he shared. RanMan?s first experience in the studio was altogether life changing. ?A.C.E had invited me to the studio ?cause he heard I could sing a lil? bit and he wanted me to write and record a hook for a song idea he had in mind.? That later lead to our first ever collaboration, ?Turn Off the Lights.? A track recorded on top an old school Teddy Pendergrass sample. As RanMan?s hook writing abilities got better and better, the more he wanted to be involved in the song making process. The more involved he got, the more he wanted to record and perform himself. ?I would tell A.C.E and the people he rapped with? Try saying this, try saying that. Do it this way, do it that way. Being artist themselves, they wasn?t trying to hear what I was talking ?bout. I understood that. I realize if I really wanted to get my ideas out there, I had to be all in. I had to become RanMan.? A.C.E and RanMan went from collaborating on one song to two songs to having so many tracks together that it only made since to come up with a name for the duo, Meanz of Operation. A lot of people ask, where did they come up with a name like Meanz of Operation? Well Webster defines it as a police term used to describe a particular suspects way of doing things, no matter what, that?s always the method they use to operate by. Their means of operation, or m.o., is then used to connect them to other acts fitting that deskription. ?We feel like this? No matter what happens, no matter how big or small the venue, no matter how big or small our bank accounts, no matter how big we get in the this industry. We?re never going to change the way we do things. If that?s a crime, lock us up and throw away the key.? Along with help from Super Producers, King Ru and Da Boss. Meanz of Operation, A.C.E & RanMan, is destined to be one of the greatest groups of past present and future. All we have to do is sit back, watch, and most important? Listen.
