Instrumental Guitar Music from South Brazil. A work exuding sensations referring to surrealism, chaos, nostalgia, extravagance, decadence and oneirism.

I PRÓLOGO (theme) I PRÓLOGO (theme)
Suíte's "intro" and first part of a "diptic" comprising the next piece, to which it serves a theme.

II ZENITH (Variations) II ZENITH (Variations)
Variations over the previous theme. Has a strong influence of Manouche Music Culture, particularly the slow form, tempoless, wich are derived from oriental music forms.

III QUILOMBO - Agreste III QUILOMBO - Agreste
Triptic form, with a central portion surrounded by an "intro" and an "outro". This piece is inspired on my teenage years, spent at a beach named "Quilombo" - after the escaped slave's community place there.

IV QUILOMBO -Quebra Coco IV QUILOMBO -Quebra Coco
Based on a "Coco" form, and ancient brazilian music style of african origins. The rythmic pattern sounds "broken" on purpose, not respecting the strict 2/4, very caribean rumba like, in order to fit the inspiration to the song's tittle.

V QUILOMBO - Ocaso V QUILOMBO - Ocaso
The end of an era, plenty of hope, wishes, freedom
Brazilian guitarist, contemporary composer and reseacher
Graduated Flamenco Guitarrist (CSM Córdoba, Andalucía)
Ma. Flamenco-Reseach (ESMUC - Barcelona, Catalunya)
Debut solo álbum (HI-FI - 2020) awarded with the 1st Herbert Holetz Prize (FCB)
Hi-Fi (2020), is a Suite for solo Flamenco Guitar. Inspiration is self-biographic, often evoquing South Brazilian relaxed mood and breathtaking landscapes.
Having performed as Flamenco accompanist for over a couple of decades, my work now relies on artistic appropiation, with the elements of Flamenco music appearing subjected to my own work's expressive needs, where it combines with elements of distinct origins.
My academic research fully rellies on identification and development of identity and personality, led over a background of global cultural dialogue over the centuries and how it translates into today's artistic expressions.
Very humble beginnings, off a family based on working class and countryside field workers.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I appreciate every kind of music ever made, and pay attention to all of it. Nevertheless, my main sources of inspiration are musicians like Keith Jarret, S. Rachmaninoff, Badi Assad, B. Bártok, Baden Powell, Manolo Sanlúcar, Mayhem, F. Chopin, Paco Cepero, J. S. Bach, H. Villa-Lobos, and many more.
