Dead Presidents (Sample)
My biggest placement to date is producing for Omillio Sparks (State Property). Other than that I have produced for artists in the DMV such as Ray Vic, Al Great, Overdose, Mark Milly, T. Da Marijuan, Tiara La Niece, and Rich Randy.
Band/artist history
I began producing in 1995 with one of my neighborhood friends who recruited me to be an artist in his crew. I originally was recruited to rap but once he found out I was great at looping samples and sequencing drums in his MPC I became a top recruit in my neighborhood. One year later, I began a rap group by the name of M.E.P with one of my high school friends. His brother bought an ASR and we began using that as our staple to produce and that became my life. I went on to produce multiple albums and mixtapes using the ASR from 1998-2003. In 2004, I was introduced to FL Studio by my homie DJ Taylormade. Since then, I've been bouncing back and forth between that and other computer based sequencing software for the last 8-9 years. The Maschine is my current producing tool.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I perform live inBaltimore, D.C., Philly and New York etc. I think live performance gives the best display for Hip-Hop and for you to market your material. My most special moment had to be performing at the Afram in 106 degree weather.
Your musical influences
Sean "Puffy" Combs for how clean his samples always sound, Dr. Dre because no producer has better knock than him, Kanye West because of his clever ways to utilize a sample, Just Blaze for his drum sequencing, Jermaine Dupri for his way to make R&B sound so unique whether it's a sample or not and Timbaland for being able to produce records in any genre.
What equipment do you use?
FL Studio, 24 Key Midi Controller, The Maschine and Pro Tools
