PrimeVIII

PrimeVIII is a feel good music hip hop band formed in 2006. Their music is best described as hip-hop, with various other influences, including party, funk, soul music and alternative rock. We do what we feel weather you like it or not. And whether you like it or not, someone will. And, as long as we like it, and can at the very least bob my head to it, it’s in the bag. We don’t come from a background of music, or claim to have played the piano, guitar, or sing at 6 months. Face it; I can’t even remember that far back. But one thing I can tell you, I love music and I would do this for me†if that was the only avenue. With that said; Please enjoy. Call me! -GeronimoB
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In 1992 Geronimo began his journey in hip hop culture. After being inspired by the battles hashed out between the New York City Breakers and Rock Steady Crew in Beat Street, Bboy Geronimo began break dancing. He could be found practicing in the school halls alongside Dancin Domes and Juseboogy. They eventually broke off to form Massive which later combined with USM to become the MassiveMonkees family. At one battle, Juse received an ACID Pro music program as a prize, which he handed off to Geronimo. Geronimo picked up a keyboard and along with other pieces of equipment he received, grinded out all sorts of beats and songs before calling himself SoulGorilla. When close friend Josh Berman saw his potential, they joined forces to start the Seattle based heavy hitting promotional company called, what else but SoulGorilla. Today, Geronimo’s main focus is in music production where he works currently with Blood&Butter and helped start the next generation promotional company and rap trio PrimeVIII. Geronimo’s younger brother Capt’n Crisp grew up the “lil’ man†around the dance and music scene. He would occasionally practice with Massive and enter battles here and there. It wasn’t until he came back from his two year stint in Idaho, he showed interest in creating music along side older brother Geronimo. During his freshman year in high school he met Austin Powaz (AP). AP, O’ahu, HI Native moved to the states at the age of 6. Around the age of 9-10 with the influence of west coast rap and encouragement of uncle Chris Bega, AP became interested in hip hop and began writing and recording himself on a tape recorder over industry instrumentals.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love to play live and I play anywhere. I love being out there seeing heads bob and having necks sore the next morning. All the special moments are on the stage. ALL OF IT...
