POLYMOND is a one man music project. The name means variety in genre and style.
As a singer in school choir I started playing mouth organ, piano, guitar and flute.
In 1980s modified regular tape recorders where used to create own and covered songs by overdubbing. That sounded terrible because quality became worse at every recording step.
After 1990 PC with MIDI interface and multitimbral polyphonic synthesizers let me record up to 16 instrument tracks at same time. Finally DAW programs made it possible to record track by track, indestructive editing, mixing and mastering. So first album POLYMOND Nr. 1 was published on home made CD in 1996.
Basically POLYMOND offers studio made music only, but sometimes some songs were played live with help of half playback.
Main influences came from TANGERINE DREAM, MIKE OLDFIELD and KITARO. Further former famous bands like CCR, ELO, DEEP PURPLE, LIFT, PUHDYS as well as classical composers like CARL ORFF gave inspiration too.
synth: Yamaha SY-85, Roland XV-3080
DAW: Magix Samplitude Studio
POLYMOND music cannot be put into one genre. It is not main stream, rather something between film music, pop and experimental. There is planned to publish electronic music in style of Berlin School too.
